Thank you Jack for solving a question I have had about 7/8" tape, now that I know Kleinschmidt machines uses 7/8" tape, does anyone else know of any other machines that uses 7/8' tape?  I have a box of eight rolls 7/8" tape for anyone that can use them.

KL tape is 7/8 inch wide allowing the print to be read on the edge, while the 5 level

data is on the balance of the tape. The tape shown on the picture has the

5 level code bits in the middle. There are 28 type readers that

allow for 1 inch, 7/8 or 11/16 inch tapes by moving the tape guides.

They have the full 8 bit reading capability.

Same as used with the Dataspeed units.
