[GreenKeys] Bell nomenclature...

It seems that all industries have nomenclature. When I first met the
Teletype crew in Wheeling, Illinois I was very nervous. Fresh out of
the Navy I had no idea how I was going to learn about all of the 600
odd machines we had to maintain..
One of the three guys that worked out of Waukegan grinned and slapped
me on the back. John Davis, a great guy, said "Don, you will fit
right in here, the only difference between the Navy and Illinois Bell
is the color of the trucks."

The recent communications about print hammer heads finally snapped up
a bit of memory in my brain... Several of the guys would ask me "Hey
Don do we have any more of those tiny hockey pucks for the 33s?" I
would answer... "We are getting low but I have ordered more." They
also referred to the print hammers for 28s and 35s as "pecker heads."
I am hopeful that someday I will find a Supplies Code Ordering LIst
(SCOL) to use as a reference. It would have to be older than 1979.
