Yes Don. Many of us relate to lack of necessary funds. 
Question!  What is that unit on bottom if base?  I don't rember mine having all that electronics. I used mine in sending and receiving data from ship to shore while doing physical oceanography. Perhaps my recollection is amiss! 
Also saw the URA-17. I have 3 of them somewhere.  I recollect seeing some sort of signal on the scope but forget what it displayed. So soon memory leaves us!
