Hi Guys,
I've offered to set up a working Teletype display at the SF Bay area
radio clubs (CHRS) new museum. I know some of the folks here
have done something like this and would appreciate any tips or
suggestions.
I'd prefer to use a model 15 (with table) and a HAL ST-6 along with a PC laptop
to access iTTY. Starting the search for these now. Either some placards or
a slide show running on the PC. Subjects would include;
history of development, where & how TTY was used, and a basic 'how it works'
blurb. Emphasis on a working machine typing out real time news stories.
I'd like to allow kids (big and small) to tear off the copy to take home too.
Trying to keep this simple, reliable (I'll be on the hook to keep it running)
but interesting to those already into vintage electronics and those that
might not be.
