My first RTTY equipment consisted on a Commodore 64, Kantronics Interface
II, and a cartridge that plugged into the 64. The Kantronics supplied a raw
data stream at TTL levels, while software in the cartridge contained
software that translated Baudot and CW, and provided a visual interface. In
QSO's with "old timers", I became interested in mechanical devices.
Consequently purchased a Model 32, and many other like units followed...

Subject: [GreenKeys] Commodore 64 for RTTY

I used to work some stations that were using Commodore 64 computers for RTTY
terminals. I got to wondering if they were using the Commodore as an ASCII
terminal to something like a Kantronics or AEA TNC, or were they using
software that allowed the Commodore 64 to send and receive Baudot.
