The irony here is that interest in homebrew electronics and robotics
has never been stronger! If I were CEO of Radio Shack I would focus
on capitalizing on that interest, but I fear that they are too
disconnected with the modern world of amateur electronics to ever be
able to do that.
Even if they focused on stuff you need instantly and can't wait for
shipping, they still won't survive, because there just isn't that
much demand to support the company at it's current size. (Their
stores already stock that sort of stuff; if that were the ticket to
survival, they wouldn't be in trouble now.)
