Douglas - opps!   Ok I  stand corrected..    it is a  real   port  not a   
usb to  9 pin  converter...
but.. still is the  issue if the uart will go  don   that low in baud rate 
to   talk to  60 wpm    baudot  tty.

I bought an RS232 port for  my Pi for about $6
You can find them on eBay, for example:

I added an extender to the GPIO  header to raise the board a bit,
and I was then able to add a nylon  mounting screw and standoff
to my Raspberry case to give the DB9 plug a  very firm footing.
