Greenkeys,
A quick update on the 180502 rubber hammer heads.
I appreciate the support for the project and my (poor) wife has managed to get all the orders out (except for some foreign orders which will hopefully ship ASAP). We were both surprised with the quantities purchased and it has been difficult to keep up - Danielle needs my help to process everything and I am dead tired when I get home from work, so mostly I try to catch up on the weekends.
We are going to try and simplify the process a little, it seems the most difficult part is to follow up after shipping with each individual to provide a paypal total. Basically the cost to mail 10, 20 or 30 parts First Class is the same - $2.32 and the padded envelope is $1.00. I think I will take a page from John Whitney's playbook and suggest the following for any future orders:
1. Email Danielle at RetroParts at yahoo.com with the quantity and mailing address.
2. Danielle will ship the order First Class US mail.
3. The pricing is as follows: $7+$1+$2 = $10 for 10 parts, $14+$1+$2 = $17 for 20 parts and $21+$1+$2 for 30 parts.
4. If outside the US an additional $3 should cover it.
5. Once you get the parts, if and only if you are happy, you can paypal one of the above amounts. If not completely satisfied - there is no need to pay.
We will go forward on the honor system.
She will try to send you a reply once the order ships.
I have received many positive messages from folks who have received and tried the parts in their machines - thanks for that! I would appreciate you sharing any tips or tricks you used to fit the part properly and would love to hear updates on how the parts are working and what improvements might be made to the components.
I had the chance to see a part working in one of my 33's this past Saturday on a visit to Wayne up in VT (I also got to see the EXACT 33 I owned when I was a kid - the first time I have seen it working in 31 years). Hopefully in a few months when the restorations are complete, I will mate it with the single board computer I built when I was 19 and the two will be working together once again - playing checkers!
Again, please share your experiences with the reflector. I am shooting to make the oil pads available next week.
Faceplates are coming along great. Parts are fabricated and silkscreen is finished - they are going to be indistinguishable from the originals.
thanks.
