[GreenKeys] Glue for joining punched tape

A while back I posted a request for any info on the availability of glue 
for joining punched tape, e.g., to run a loop for the tape reader. There 
were one or two helpful replies which mentioned commercially made 
products, non of which are available in this country (N.Z).
  Well, I had a blinding flash of commonsense and tried using white glue 
(PVA woodwork glue) and it is the perfect answer. A small amount wiped 
on the tape ends and then positioned makes a good strong join and dries 
almost immediately.
I was just surprised that 1. I didn't think of it before, and 2. Someone 
in the group surely must have known about or used it before.
Anyway, problem solved and 73 to all.
