Gentlemen, I'm not a radio man, more of a vintage computer guy. I have been following your email forum for nearly a year and have picked up some good tips. I currently have a Teletype Model 43 terminal that I have restored and found it to work very well with my CP/M computer. I had the most trouble with getting the ribbon re inked, but solved that problem and everything is working fine. Currently I have picked up a DEC PDP8E computer and would like to connect to a Teletype ASR 33. On eBay there is a ASR 33 for $1475.00. I know that condition is an important consideration as to value. Could you give me some guide lines to what a ASR 33 terminal should cost. Is this one over priced? Thanks

In addition to two 33ASR’s connected to my PDP-8/A and PDP-11/23+, I also have a 43KSR and all my (unused) ribbons are dried out. I would be very interested in your re-inking technique.

(I tried drilling a 1/8” hole above the ink roller and spraying in some WD-40. After letting it soak for a while, the ribbon was usable but still light).
