Hi all...

Wayne's advice is absolutely necc'y, if one is to have a 32/33 shipped
any distance, by any freight/courrier service...

In an "Ideal" world, the machines shud be fastened to a plywood pallet, or the
very least a fibreboard one, with the proper use of the stand-off bushings and
the rite hold-down screws...

In most cases, neither are present, and if so, one can fully expect damages
to the printing unit, cover and keyboard unit...

I recently had a 32 shipped to me and I gave the shipper exact shipping and
packing details which he followed to the letter...

Even so, two of the shipping bolts were bent somewhat, but the
printing unit stayed put...However, the KBD cover had all the locating
pins broken off flush
with the sides of the keyboard cover...Only a cuple of minor other
issues, but I came away lucky as there was no further damage...

I shudder at the amount of G-forces, the shipping carton had been exposed to
but it made the trip...

So, follow Wayne's advice, and others, to ensure if you are having one
of these machines shipped, even a short distance, ensure the packing
instructions are followed faithfully...

Back in the day, when working, I packed & shipped many of these machines
for distribution to our offices in various parts of Canada...

Having the proper gear to pack & ship these machines, ensured they wud make it
in one piece...

I can recall a customer owned machine, a sprocket feed M32ASR,
had been shipped in for repair, it had simply been placed in a large
box & shipped...

$1,100 later, it was returned to customer...Needless to say, sad, but
very true...

Cheers!
