Having the manual is imperative.
Very little of the operation is intuitive.

Since my dog decided it was HIS turn to have the bed, I got up and
sat down with the manual to sort out the "connect what to who and
where."

I have it figured out now.
ASCII for the local control via the RS-232 I/O at 110 baud.
Baudot set up for 40 mA loop at 50 Baud for my Lorenz Lo-15b,
using the internal loop supply.

*Laughs* I want to see if I got all this right, but I really do NOT want
to go down to the shop at a quarter to 3 in the morning. Think I'll
boot the dog and take my bed back. ;-)
