Hi all...

Interesting comment on the M40 typecarrier belt "Disintegration"...

I last worked on these in the field back in 1986-87, and typecarriers were
routinely failing even then...

The problem was so chronic, I kept several of different type font styles
etc., "Pre-loaded"
with the pallet arrangement already installed...

It was a real time saver for sure!

Nothing like trying to find the missing pallets which had been ripped out
of the belt, when
one or more of the "Pockets" failed...

It was truly a curse...I have done it many times before I got wise and kept
complete carrier
assemblies in the service van...

Good luck to those still running 40's...I wud imagine even NOS belts are not
reliable even if found...
