      There are two oils sold under the 3 in 1 name:  the familiar 
semi-penetrating oil in the red can and regular 20 weight machine oil in 
the blue can.   The 20 weight stuff is good general purpose oil.   The 
red can stuff is intended to be a penetrating oil for stuck parts and 
not a general purpose lubricant.   If you look up the differences 
between paraffinic and naphthenic oils you will see why.
