Interesting  indeed. I found references to it, but no manual per se.  I 
wonder how  this worked on the output side? Was there 5 bits plus some kind of 
a  strobe/data ready line to signal the parallel-side equipment that the 
data was  ready? And does anyone know what sort of parallel equipment/device 
was used?  Early computer? Parallel messaging system?
