Having recently updated to Windows/10 and found my loop back audio no longer works on my Laptop I downloaded this:-

and I can now use MMTTY to monitor the ITTY audio stream from RealPlayer whilst also playing it out through the headphone jack for decoding to a real TTY…

Very true, how about a compromise :-) My problem being around

At home when I demo a Teletype that is not a computer demonstration is

Basement PC with the 'source' -> TTL Serial data out -> FSK Modulator -> Low power transmitter -> attenuator -> Coax

Living room Coax (hidden) -> DC block -> shortwave receiver -> Dovetron -> 28 KSR

The demo side is currently decommissioned due to it being the spare bedroom.

But that takes away replicating the feel of the old days: the anticipation of waiting for the broadcast, having to find the signal on the right frequency at the designated time, having to hook up the equipment to the radio, fiddling because you got something wrong and missing half the picture, etc. Ah the conveniences of the modern internet...

Another option would be create WAV (or a compressed format) file for each tape and make them downloadable. Your PC's settings could decide if they were saved or 'played'

Would also be nice to have binary files as well.

A really cool site would show thumbnails and low resolution/size pictures and have a "Donate" button.

Hi Tim,

If you're using the popular and free VLC player to listen to ITTY, just type "record audio stream with VLC player" in Google and you'll find plenty of instructions.

Good luck!

Need some help please on these pictures. If Tom sends them out on ITTY at 1200EDST I should be able to record them on audio tape?? If I had one of my machines running I could print and punch but they are not ready to run yet. Since I am not a computer literate person is there a way to record them directly to the PC for future play back?

Would this be sent on ITTY or ITTY AUTOSTART. Sorry I am so new to this and Know nothing about little.
