That's not one of the things I worry about.  I started to write a long
historical treatise, but I don't think anybody cares.  With all the
digital modes out there today, RTTY being one of the lesser-used ones
except for contesting and DX chasing, I'll take the frequency however
you want to tell it to me.  Back in ancient times when we specified
the mark frequency it was hard to be correct to within 1 KHz or so
anyway; we had to take the signal where we could find it.
