I'm probably confessing to a sin here, but I used a couple of wires 
stripped from ribbon cable.

I once had a length of coax going down the hallway, but Dear Daughter's 
pet rabbit kept chewing into it.  When I asked her how would she like him 
served up i.e. specify the sauce, the problem stopped.
