Hi all!
Yes, Klien make great tools, they were the favorite in the shop
when I apprenticed there...I still have a couple of side cutters
and "Long nose" pliers made by them...
Back in the day, unlike now, the pliers came bare ass with
no insulating material on the handles...We wud place sleeves
of insulating material, rubber like, called "Beetleskins" on them!
Back to the hold down screw holder...The unit I was specifically
referring to actually had a wide "V" shape end with two metal parallel
blades touching at the bottom of the shaft and widening slightly
at the tip...The tool blades wud be pressed into the screw head
slot and it wud hold the screw by friction fit...
This tool was abt 10" long and was double ended, having a smaller
but similar tip at the opposite end for smaller screws...
All the Teletype tool kits used in the shop had these...
I still have mine!
Cheers!
Ken
