[GreenKeys] RYRY Signal plus Noise for RTTY testing enclosed

Hi Jim,

I am happy the test signal is useful for you, please let me know if you get your systems working with it.

It only takes a few minutes to generate a signal file with some other SNR (in 3dB steps),
if you need it, or I can mute the noise track or the signal track if desired.

Don

     Thanks for
 that - just what I need. I
had my TS-2000 modified for 5 MHz operation and now
 cannot get my
USB Signallink interface to work reliably. I also have
 a BARTG ST5
TU that I can test with that signal if it is set up
 for high
       tones.

       73 / Best wishes

       Hello,

Have other folks posted or do you use canned test signals
 for RTTY demodulator testing? I

I made the attached 12 second long AFSK test signal using
Audacity. The SNR is supposed to be +3dB. Maybe someone will
find it useful for testing their RTTY demodulator
performance. The SNR can be changed in 3dB steps in either
direction, if anyone wants other SNRs to try.

 The tones are 2125Hz = mark, 2975Hz = space, @ 60WPM.

The noise is the white noise generator provided in Audacity.
I did not apply any filter to it.

There is a 4 second mark tone followed by
RYRYRY...<CR><LF> then a shorter mark tone about
1 second. I think it should print about half a line of RYs,
a CR and a LF. Set your player to repeat for continuous
 signal.

Since I do not have an RTTY demodulator yet, I cannot
promise that this is a 100% correct signal as I have done a
visual check only during the construction of the file. I
hope someone will try it out and let me know how it works,
 thanks.

Sorry about the large file size (.wav) I do not have MP3
 encoder.
