Hi again,
Ok I am going to try and pursue some sort of web storefront thing for taking orders
and processing payment, rather than forcing people to use paypal or send checks like
last time. Stay tuned!
BTW I'm still aiming for under $40 USD. Parts cost is no problem, and cost of
commercial assembly seems like it should be workable as well. These are too small and
I don't have the time to hand assemble them myself. :)
(for anyone who does this stuff for a living or more frequently than I do - please
feel free to offer input. The first batch was assembled partially by seeedstudio.com
in china and they are electrically and mechanically fine and the price was ok, but
they only place parts they themselves stock, so I hand-soldered the optos and a few
other larger parts myself - I don't mind that part and its still a viable option
but a service that does the whole thing would be better. There's a 0.5mm pitch QFN
and the smallest passives are 0603, and no thru-hole parts except the screw terminals
which I'm happy to do myself or leave to the buyer to solder :)
