I'm from Houston and both I and my wife spent most of our careers in the 
Oil Patch.  So let's NOT talk about oil.  :-)

However... My take on loop supplies is that the three dozen odd complicated 
suggestions given over the past several days or weeks are the invention of 
three dozen new wheels, none of which work any better than the MK 1 MOD 0 
version and most of which work more poorly.  130 VDC and a 2500 ohm rheostat 
worked fine in 1940 and is still the simplest solution (just don't try to use 
a selenium rectifier).  You don't have to worry about how many machines you 
jack into the loop or whether they have pulling or holding magnets or etc.
