Regarding the tape moistener for your WU 2-B, they seem to come up with some regularity on eBay.
Having the real thing is far better than making a substitute, IMHO.
Also, I made some plastic cores for the large-center-hole tape that John Nagle has/had, which I have given to several Greenkeyers.
Let me know and I’ll see if I can find an extra, if you go with his very excellent paper tape.
My 2-B is a treasure and remains the machine most people want to see demonstrated.
I have a couple of old telegrams beside it so that people can see what the finished telegram looked like, and how we communicated back when …
