[GreenKeys] Model 19 TD problem

My Model 19 teletype has a problem not disconnecting the TD from the keyboard.  I found my original problem with the failure to return the carriage was the switch from keybord to TD was somehow locked in
the  TD position. That switch now will only  go to the perferator position, and in that position, the machine trys to perforrate when you hit a key. What should I seek out first?
