Seeing the damage to this craft and reading the account leaves me to
conclude that nothing short of Divine intervention held this craft
together and the crew safe, and ensured the landing, with the pictures
for evidence!

I have never been aboard a B-17, whether on tarmac or in flight.
Looking at videos inside and out don't do it justice either. I have
been greatly humbled by reading this.

Sharing it? Happy to. Whether it would be grasped mentally, much less
understood by generations younger and supposedly more "savvy" than me,
remains the real question. But I will try to share it from the
perspectives I can. Standing next to one of these and taking in the
scale of things- especially the size of that ball turret- leaves me
unable to say much of anything. I do swallow a lump in my throat and
reflect that in spite of whacking my head on low-hanging stuff, I am
very grateful to be 6'1". And 240+ lbs. Before a meal.

I pray the spirit of these men and this machine are not truly lost to
time, but live somewhere in the minds and hearts of the  ones who will
rise up in their place, along with  the respect and honor for the One
Who held this situation in His hand, and delivered them in this day.
