Back in the day when al TV transmitters "Glowed in the Dark" the red glyptal was used by RCA (TT-11AH transmitter) to indicate aadjustments that were NOT to be moved unless a complete alignment of the rig was to be done.
Some of the Studio equipment was mrked in the same way........................

Thought I would jump in on this also. The red Glyptol also was available in spray cans
which is a lot thinner of course as compared to the product in a small paint can, I have
several small cases of this spray, it was applied to motor windings and generator windings
to help insulate and protect them, the spray is easy to apply with as many coats as needed
for the job...

I always called it just "red glypt" and it was commonly used to mark and semi-lock trimmers and adjustment screws. It didn't lock things with the solidity of Locktite, but it did clearly mark them as "do not tweek."
