I did an inventory of the jacks on hand. Someone on GreenKeys can be the 'hero' and
locate a Western Electric info source to figure out what these Letter/Number combos
actually represent. I am NOT going to sit and get crossed eyes trying to figure
out what happens to one terminal, when a plug is inserted or withdrawn.
The ones I have are:
303A (19)
223A (8)
JJ024 (7)
236C (3)
233A (2)
225A (2)
241A (1)
217A (1)
XP 33 (1)
JK 35 (1)
438C (1)
46 items
I've had several requests for 'left overs' after filling a few of the early
requests.
Don't know quite how to handle this. Most important is whether any of those
with only one, two or three available will be somehow desirable and if the
few with 7, 8 and 19 are not of use.
Who can come up with an internet reference for Jacks? That will be most
helpful to the group.
Someone earlier mentioned that the typical "Switchcraft" 1/4" phone jacks would
not work well. Well, yes and no. Since the common terminal will touch any metal
into which they are mounted, it does provide unwanted paths in some cases, and it
becomes VERY important as to which end is inserted first.
I have SEVERAL HUNDRED insulating washers which can SOMETIMES be put on one
of the "Switchcraft" jacks to provide insulation from system or chassis ground
to the common terminal of the jack. It requires that the panel on which the jack
will be mounted is not too thick. With the correct thickness, two washers can be
put on either side of such a jack and the locking nut (don't forget the washer!)
can be put on and tightened enough to provide a secure mounting.
I will happily provide 40 of these washers to anyone sending a buck. That will
cover the cost of an inner and outer envelope, a stamp and a few pennies left over.
(The thickness of the envelope may require a 'surcharge' since it can't be handled
by the automated equipment. A buck should still cover things.)

As for the jacks, we will have to wait a bit and figure things out, based on the
general 'utility' of the 1/4" jacks listed above.
Thanks,
Ralph
