[GreenKeys] CRLF or not CRLF?

So, having dealt with this issue in 2016 and 2017, here is my solution to the problem:
Since I have to convert from Baudot/45.45 to ASCII/110, I use a software conversion routine written in Visual Basic - it keeps track of the number of characters received and automatically issues a CR/LF to the Model 33 if 72 characters are received with no break.  Also, when a "CR" is received, it adds an "LF" automatically and sends that to the TTY..if a subsequent "LF" is received, it is ignored. So, in summary:  CR only --> CR/LF, CR/LF --> CR/LF, 72 characters no CR (or LF) --> CR/LF.
Obviously there will be many other creative solutions to the problem - some mechanical, some electronic, some software - the idea of ham radio is to experiment - finding ways to connect our ancient history with modern history is a fun challenge.
Jeff, since I am the plaque sponsor for 2018, I am not going to enter under this category at least for the first couple contests :>).

Regarding the software RTTY and what they send. I've seen it stated here that software RTTY only sends CR but not also LF, and this makes life difficult for heavy metal RTTY that expects both.
This morning I see a post concerning MMTTY, in which it is stated that MMTTY sends CRLF as its default behavior.
Given that (from my limited perspective) it seems most contesters use MMTTY bolted onto their logger to generate their RTTY, is this really a problem?
If we don't know for sure, perhaps I or someone can cruise over to the various contest lists and get a definitive answer.
