Bruce,

Concerning the fusetron, there's a simple hack to deal with it. You need
one of the adapters that screws into a light socket and converts it to a
regular mains outlet (2-prong). Then you take a standard mains cord, cut it
short, and install an inline-type fuse holder for a standard glass fuse
(like 1-1/4" AGC type).

Screw in the adapter, plug in the cord+fuse, and you're good to go.
