[GreenKeys] Garbling Siemens T-100

Hi all!

The Siemens T-100 is most happy with running @ 130VDC
40ma...

The loop supply should definitely be nominal +60/-60 for
a "Non-polar" 130V neutral loop...

The selector magnet armature ass'y is very precise in it's
adjustment criteria, so I wudn't. play with it...Check all else
first.

It is however, quite proper to clean the magnet face & armature
with alcohol, or a non-lubricated lock de-icer fluid...

A good cleaner is the CRC electronic cleaner, QD, I believe,
It works especially well & leaves no residue!

Simply use compressed air (The canned stuff), and blow it
dry afterwards...

I use it constantly on all my electronic needs, especially
on band switches in communications receivers...

Now back to your problem at hand!

I wud check the dial box power supply first and check the
electrolytics for physical leakage and run a capacitor check...

Remember, these caps are now 40+ yrs old...

If you were running the T100 in 'Local' mode, and this
is when it garbles, check the performance on a known good
external loop supply...If ok now, trbl for sure is in the local
DC supply of the dial box...

This garbling on local, was a common problem for us
on T-100's and LO-15's in Telex service...

The Siemens 'L' dial box with the local option, was the
one most prone to this problem, and always found to
be low voltage/current from the power supply!

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
