They’re the same folks who assembled Model 28 reperfs….

In New York, the Western Electric plant had rows of little old ladies

in aprons refurbishing Teletype equipment…

Subject: [GreenKeys] Wanted - Photo of 1960's Teletype Corp. assembly line

I have just finished a complete disassembly/re-assembly of a UGC-77 keyboard (like M32 but with photocells) to replace a couple of deeply-embedded nylon gizmos and have some questions.

Is there a photo of the Teletype assembly line showing all those people with 4 arms and eyes on stalks who put this thing together?

Did the company have an on-site crew of men in white coats to carry away the assemblers, or were they called from the local insane asylum on an as-needed basis?
