Hi Wayne,

About 3 years ago I completed my own capability to do exactly what you want, but it was a pretty big project.

I use a PC laptop operating TeraTerm terminal emulator to send an ASCII text file via RS-232 interface to a buffer in my MC6800 based microcomputer, which is running software I designed for it. Then I can command the microcomputer to convert the text to Baudot and forward the text file to my teletype machine, in my case a Kleinschmidt AN/FGC-25 running at 60wpm.

I can also receive text from the teletype machine, convert it to ASCII, and display on the PC laptop, via the MC6800 microcomputer.

My demonstration of this capability is the 2nd half of the following video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcfNrhSZnAk

I have also used my Windows-7 laptop with a USB-to-RS232 adapter instead of the Win98 laptop.

Maybe this will give you some ideas.
73,
Don
