Just saw some old USSR records on eBay whose title translates to "Musical
Teletype". I thought at first that the USSR Ministry of Culture had tried
to put the sound of teleprinters to music, which would definitely be an
interesting project. But it turns out it's just a title-- it looks like the
"Musical Teletype" series were compilations of unrelated music with a funny
title, and they had at least seven records in the series.

I even found one song from one of the records on YouTube to confirm that
teletypes actually had no part in the music.

Not that you could do a lot with a teletype musically-- it would mostly be
a kind of percussion, sort of like Leroy Anderson's "The Typewriter", and
the meter would be constrained by the speed of the machine rather than the
operator:

I have considered trying to do something similar with a teletype, just for
fun.
Just some fun Sunday night researching.
