I doubt it. Probably all that the Prop Master had available that day. Like movies showing some grunt with a BC-622 supposedly talking to his CO who has a BC-1000.

I wonder if there is any authenticity to that. No new Model 26 machines had been made since the late 1930s, according to what I've read; and it's not the kind of machine you'd want to take into the field in war anyway.
Which is to say not especially rugged and requires its own special table to handle the paper roll.
In fact it wasn't long after the Korean War that the Bell System started taking Model 26s out of service.
