[GreenKeys] Model 15 motor (which way?)

Which way should the motor turn in my model 15? Machine will not go into an open state. The motor just spins its little heart out, but there's no cam movement, except at the gears (first segment of cam). When unit is unplugged and I manually turn the motor in the opposite direction, the cam's 'entire length moves. Do I have a bad motor? Which way should the motor turn?
