[GreenKeys] Odds and ends...

Hello everyone.

Spring is in the air, and thoughts of rending the ether with signals just
twists my throttle.
Along with fishing.

I'm not sure how hard it would be to find sheet metal for the model
14/15/19 series
of Teletype machines, but I am curious. Here in 2 days, I will be going to
look at
a couple of machines to "rescue". Both are supposed to be Signal Corps
model
15 KSR's. From pics, both look like many key tops would need to be sourced.
I
thought since I have a nice 15 KSR already, why not pull the keyboards and
make
them both pull RO duty? I know the sheet metal could be worked around but
if I
could locate a pair of cases that would be nice.

I also have a model 19. I found the metal bracket that allows the addition
of a
model 14 reperforator. Finding another model 14 TD with its mounting slide
bracket
would be a dream- (a "holy swound" if I could find a dual head TD- nice to
do CQ
and brag tapes without having to do tape monkey and swap them out!). The
reperf
and the additional TD or dual head TD would give me a formidable station to
work
with and prepare for just about anything legacy RTTY, especially the RTTY
Roundup!

That is what I'm focusing my efforts on for now. Since my aortic valve
replacement, I feel
like an older Chicago song "Feelin' Stronger Every Day"- especially the
part in the chorus
where they take it into the spin cycle! I think a few of us might know
which part that is...

I also have a lone 28 RO I would like to pair with a 28 ASR. If I found one
with an under dome
reperf, that would be a dream. Both of those would give me a nice model 28
RTTY operator center
as well as the model 19 operator center. Thought I had an ASR found once in
Louisiana but it turned
out to be much more trouble than it would have been worth to acquire it.

So, here it all is, in list form:

2- model 15 RO cases (can be disgusting if intact)
1- 14 TD with the model 19 slide base or free-standing, or
1- 14 TD two head model, either slide or free standing
1- model 28 ASR (under dome reperf is a plus)

I'm not sure what the value of each item would be. Sourcing things and
buying them from fellow Greenkeyers would be far more preferable to me than
going on ePay or Craigslist. It would be good
to check with Paul "Mr. RTTY" Cembura in California as well. Feel welcome
to contact me off-list- it
might be better that way- I will be happy to share land and cell numbers as
well! Thank you all for any
help in finding these things.

73 de KE5LIB!

Mark
