[GreenKeys] LPW 300 paper winder

Well, I get to correct myself two times!
The blue color of my paper winder is a great paint job. It also covered up a metal tag that had
some of the info about the device. It is a LPW 300-B winder. I removed the cover and also saw
a power resistor whose value was not easily seen. I didn't bother with a meter, but I will take
someone's word for it being a 600 ohm device. Looks like a 25W item to me.
(The motor does look like one from a 50s simple phonograph turntable.)
The device may have been mounted to a Model 15, since I see several extra holes made for mounting.
If it was mounted on a Model 28 the existing holes would have fit along with others on the back of
the cabinet for a smooth installation. One of these days I'll have to mount it on my Model 28KSR.
Anyone else remember the 'chat' a few years back about the Copy Display Rack for the paper winders?
I think one could be made from a 60" piece of round 1/4" stock. About 18" 'rise' on each side, 11"
wide and about 6 1/4" inside the frame on each side. 18 + 18 + 11 + 12 1/2 = 59 1/2". Each end
needs a small 'tip' to insert into a hole on the bottom of the bracket on each side, maybe 1/8" dia.
The ones from TELETYPE have something like a 'spring' on the 11" horizontal part, free moving, to
allow paper to slide/roll as it goes over the top. There are a few offset bends involved as well.
Does anyone have a Model 28 manual showing various accessories? I'm coming up with this info with
my ruler and memory of what I saw several times in the past.

This shows only the winder and no Display Rack. The Rack has the part number 193950.

When there is slack in the paper, the bail falls and the motor turns back on. Perhaps the resistor was a safety feature to prevent motor burn-out, but some one disabled it.

It is very unlikely the motor is synchronous if there is no slip clutch, they don't have much starting torque it's probably shaded pole or capacitor start. Those two types can produce a reasonable starting torque at reduced voltage and be stalled or nearly stalled for long times if they have a resistor or other means to limit current.
