[GreenKeys] 28 SMD - OK to short out reperf selector magnets for tape feed?

The aux reperf on this 28ASR has an SMD in the LESU. The Tape Feed-Out
switch is shown shorting out the selector magnets in the diagrams I can
find, but those show ASRs without an SMD, just normal line drive for the
reperfs selector magnets.
The reason for doing it this way is that the Tape Feed-Out switch cable
runs directly to the aux reperf and not to its associated LESU.

I *guess* it is OK to short the output of the SMD, but haven't ever tried
that before and was wondering if anyone has experience???
