[GreenKeys] Help with Printing to M28

I’m having issues printing and need some ideas on what could be wrong. My first guess—-it’s a driver issue. I’m running an M28RO (thanks to John WD999 for his great help). The M28 is connected to a Volpe board plugged into a Windows 7 or a Windows 10 PC (same symptoms both machines). When I use Putty there’s no issue typing to the device. I installed usbtty.inf for the Volpe board

I can then use the DOS command:
copy test.txt com3:
and the file prints correctly.

Then in Windows, I add a printer (Generic/Text Only). After I add a serial generic printer then that same file does not print to completion using that same copy command. And if I use Notepad to print that file to the new serial generic printer it stops at approximately the same spot as the copy command (roughly 7-8 lines of text); pauses for about 5-10 seconds and then repeats printing from the start. It does the same with the Windows Print Test Page feature. Meanwhile in the windows printer panel that file shows “error printing”. It will continue to reprint this same few lines until I cancel that print job.

My goal is to be able to define the com3 port as a serial printer in Windows so the software I have can print to the M28 as the default printer.

Where did I go wrong? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dan Provost
