A third machine that I had was converted to "printing" using a laser diode from a dead CD drive to write on sun sensitive paper (the kind of photo paper used in elementary schools to "sun print" outlines of leaves, etc, takes lots of lumens to make an image)... the older ARRL handbooks have several articles on Deskfax operation, modifications, etc... the pair I still have seem to do well as door stops and supports for coupla hepa air filters!  Yes I know, sooner or later I will get the illogical and perhaps insane urge to get rid of them...
