Greetings GreenKeys!
Now that my Mod15 is running well, I am going to start in on a Mod28 KSR.
It's "recent" history is: it was overhauled at a west coast Navy
facility in the late 90s, was then surplussed right afterward, (our tax
dollars hard at work!), was purchased at a DRMO auction, and was then
stored in a large warehouse full of electronic goodies; the warehouse
owner was called up to that big Scrapyard in the Sky about 2010, and the
warehouse was emptied and sold. Among many other items, I bought the 28,
then gave it to a friend - who stored it until a few months ago, and
offered it back to me.
Whew.
So I'm going to put it back in service, and I'd like to ask any advice
that might be available to that end. Lube points, things that get stuck,
things to watch out for, 'don't turn it on until you x,y,z..' etc.
I'm pretty familiar with 14s, 15s, and 19s, so I got my 15 running
mechanically without a lot of drama - although it took two days and
quite a bit of turbine oil.
I've never owned or operated a 28 before. I do have several Model 28
manuals.
