[GreenKeys] acrylic case

Hi John

I love your case, very nice.

Took me a while to figure out how to work with acrylic. Found some good YouTube videos online on "how to .......".
I use 1/4 inch acrylic, it's verry strong material. Drilling is absolutely not a problem, cutting was done with a jigsaw, sanding edges does not create much dust and it's done quickly, the gluing process is very similar to what you see in the plumbing world with extreme strong bonds and polishing edges is easily done with a torch. I am always impressed with the outcome - except the darn fingerprints ☹

Attached are three pics of my new 28KSR tabletop model with LED lights and a salvaged cooling fan from an old computer. The sound insulation was created out of a retired saddle pad - this machine is a bit more on the quiet side than my other 28 inside the old fashion steel cabinet.

And the vacuum tube you can see on the lower right side above the switch inside the case is just a little steampunk add-on. The tub actually works, it is a Dekatron counting tub, spinning around to an adjustable speed. At our event last weekend, I pulled somebody's leg and said: "this is a super rare tube driven teletype machine, probably the only one on the planet" - but the guy figured it out pretty quickly and we both laughed.

Enjoy the pics - any improvement ideas are always welcome.

PS: hope the pics are somewhat okay - resized them down to 10% (they were way too large)

I've done that, but prefer polycarbonate. It's drillable and doesn't
crack. It's about as strong as aluminum. Thin acrylic is too fragile.
