About six weeks ago I posted a note about having recently acquired this
machine.  It was pretty clean but *very* dry.  It also turned out to
have a few broken or missing parts and some bad wiring.  I am happy to
say that after a lot of coaching from Steve Garrison, N4TTY, and Tom
Kleinschmidt, and some spare parts, and very liberal application of oil
and grease, it is at least functioning somewhat.  There is still work to
be done.  I don't have much spare time these days so I've had to just do
a little bit here and there.  If the video I shot will come through you
will notice that the motor is noisy.  I assume the bearings may be bad
or going bad.  I re-covered the voltage jumpers on the power supply with
heat shrink tubing because the old insulation had become extremely
brittle and crumbled to pieces.  It is having some issues with LF which
may not show up in this particular video.  Sometimes it will re-type
over one line several times. There is a broken return spring on the "V"
typebar so sometimes that does not return.  The bias current is not up
to what it should be.  The cap on the bias current fuse will not remain
screwed down tightly so I am going to replace that at some point.
However, I have tried clamping it down and the current is still too low
according to the manual.  In the video I am feeding it with loop current
from a HAL ST-6 rather than the onboard loop.

Anyway, just thought I'd give a progress report and express thanks to
Steve and Tom for their help thus far.  I'm sure I'll need more!
