Teletype used letter codes for all the major items they made.  Usually
the first letter represented a product line and the others were sorta
mnemonic for what the item did.  Thus  BP for Model 15 printer, BK for
the keyboard, BB for the base.  LP for Model 28 printer, LK for KSR 
keyboard, LAK for ASR keyboard, LPR, LRPE and various others for various
reperforators LB for the non-keyboard base, LESU for the electrical
service unit, etc.

For the high speed line there were a new set of prefixes BRPE was the
second high speed non typing reperforator to be developed.  I don't know
if there ever was an ARPE or a CRPE, but then there was DRPE, the tuned
reed punch.  BX was a tape reader that was followed by the CX and then
by the DX.  I don't know if there was an AX.
