Yes, that's who I mean.  Believe it was his son who was in the fax 
business, the company or product name was Hogan Faximile.

Catechol as I recall.  I see by the web that it is toxic, irritant and a
health hazard, points emphasized by Alden who claimed his sepia product
had none of those properties.

If you search for catechol and facsimile a lot of stuff comes up.
