Thanks John. Great suggestions.
I have a piece of glass in the cabinet now, but it has a vertical hairline
crack. it's been that way ever since I got it, but if I have the chance to
replace it a some point with Teletype glass then I'd like to do so. But
I'll keep the plexiglass idea in mind as well for future use is need be.
I've never understood the concept of the pulling and holding magnets for
the M15. I have two magnets in my M15, wired in parallel, but one of the
coils (the outside coil) is nicked and open circuit. That means the second
coil is carrying all the current but producing the same amount of total
flux (since the current in one coil is double and the other is zero). The
working coil doesn't even get warm at 60mA of continuous loop current, and
the TTY prints well. I was thinking of replacing the open coil but I may
be better off just leaving things as they are.
Best,
Paul, ad7i
