I have a roll of the flat variety and use it so seldom it will last my
lifetime, I'm sure. I learned how to lace cables 50 years ago when I
worked on exchange installation in the days of step-by-step switching.
I have been told that waxed twine can be bought at ship's chandlers as I
understand it's used in mending sails.
