[GreenKeys] Jingle Bells

No that was a problem way before modern computers. As you should know there are several variations of the upper case (shifted) keys. One of the most common seems that most shifted characters are the same except the upper case J and S are reversed. Then there are the special weather symbols and ones with fractions.
One code was the CCITT or CCITT-2 code. I forget the other code that is common and has the shifted S,J reversed.
I think the shifted S BELL was most common, but there were enough of the shifted J being a BELL to cause problems with the picture tapes.
In the 1970s and 80s when hams were sending many picture tapes on 20 meters it was common to send both the shifted J and S right after each other so the picture would come out correct on either machine.
It is not that you need to get with the times.

figs-S or figs-J ???
I have a 28ASR set for figs-S bell. My Jingle Bells tape plays fine.
But in QSOs, when people send an apostrophe my bell rings instead.
What's up with that? Is it a computer thing?
Do I have a really old Jingle Bells tape and need to get with the times?
Cheers,
