Has something changed?

Every morning I come in and find I'm "printing" garbage.  Turns out the 
browsers has stopped playing audio.  Plays all day long without problem 
as near as I can tell. Monitor shared with a Windows box, so gets 
switched once in a while.

I don't recall having that behavior before.  Has something changed in 
the past week or so?

Fortunately I'm still stuck printing to a screen, so no wasted paper.

As I'm typing, I'm recalling that there was a browser update recently. 
Surely they didn't do something stupid in terms of a time out for streaming.

System, Unbuntu 16.04 LTS, FireFox 72.0.1, RTTY-1.0 by EB1DIX. padsp to 
get the right kind of audio into RTTY-1.0
