[GreenKeys] Model 28ASR in Texas - disassembled typing unit

I followed Tom Tilson's advice and separated the typing unit into the 
three parts:  stunt box, front plate, and main typing unit. It took me 
awhile because I guess I don't visualize or "translate" the line 
drawings in the manuals very well into the real live parts.  I went 
very, very slowly and carefully.  I probably should not say this but I 
did not lose or break a single part (that I am aware of).


Now, some questions.  There is still quite a lot of rust as you can 
see.  There is quite a bit of rust on springs.  How significant is 
that?  This machine would never be a "pristine" one so my short-term 
goal is just to see if I can get it into basic operating condition.  I 
think that can be done but I obviously won't know until I get it lubed 
up and re-assembled.  I am concerned about long-term operating stability 
because of the rust on springs and other parts.


Another question:  are there suggestions for more thorough "deep" 
cleaning now that I have it apart?  I don't really want to disassemble 
it too much farther because I am afraid I might not get it all back 
together.
